Sony develops full color and flexible OLED display

flexible_organic_el_displaySony never gets enough of amazing the world with their advancements in technology and we aren’t complaining to say the least. (After resuming my posture) I’d now like to brief you on this absolutely astonishing and paper-thin OLED display that they have come out with (though they are not the first ones to do so but what the heck we love Sony).

The fact that its about 0.3 mm thick, it’s a full-colour display with a resolution of 169x120 may not stun you as much as the fact that you can bend it. Yes, it’s flexible! Ok it wouldn’t be right to say it’s as pliant as a photograph print (couldn’t think of a better metaphor I’m so bowled over by this) but it is good enough.

The OLEDs typically use a glass substrate, but Sony researchers developed new technology for forming organic TFT on a plastic substrate, to create a thin, lightweight and flexible full-color display, which also helps to sustain the clarity.
